History of Mate
Mate is a very ancient tradition, starting with the indigenous Guaraní people of Paraguay. They harvested, dried, aged, and discovered how to best extract the plant’s many benefits.
Believed to be god-given, Yerba Mate was highly valued for aiding digestion, giving energy, and suppressing appetite in times of poor harvests or food shortages.
In the 19th century Gauchos, farmers and immigrants quickly adopted the ritual for its many health benefits.
For modern-day gauchos,
Mate is still an everyday ritual.
Mate is naturally vegan and gluten-free.
